Ercole Home shifts into shared spaces and hospitality at BDNY 2022

Ercole Home is a mosaic furniture studio based in Brooklyn. For 30 years they have made mosaic pieces for a range of spaces, from appliances to home furniture. For the BDNY 2022 event, they wanted to showcase that they could move into the hospitality market.

Ercole Home had requested assistance in designing a new furniture collection, a booth to showcase the new collection and graphic elements for marketing, such as newsletters and postcards.

The Palazzo Collection

Working with the art director Alvin Manalo, we created a mood board that had both the Venetian Italian background that Ercole was looking for with a fresh new feel. A portion of the design process is showcased below.

Creating the Ercole space

Several concepts were proposed for the BDNY booth. One concept had a large scale mirror with artwork possibly hanging in front. The other was a set of indented spaces with curved mirror. Due to the time and material restraints, the former concept was chosen.

Graphics and Marketing

Glass samples and postcards were made to be within the booth space, working as a both business card and invitation to check the out the Ercole website. The front of the postcard is an imitation of Ercole’s églomisé style mirror. These design directions were also translated to the company website and newsletter, with sneak peaks of the new collection and re-envisioned scenes of older collections.
